4 Arrangements & A Wedding

i have finally got around to taking these little babies

Wino Weekends

so, back in the day i tried to be kewl and

pretended to be sophisticated and i tried wines.

turns out i am too red for that mess. however,

i have found one i LOVE!!!!! i think i mentioned before

that a friend of mine at work and i went on a wine

tasting; welp, we've done it again. its cheap

and fun and anytime you can get a good

buz and a glass for $5 = a good time!!!

this months tour was at Château Morrisette.

SO BEAUTIFUL! we had many more wines to

taste at this one, and may i jut say that i could

barely walk away from the table. and we took the

tour (pre-tasting, thank goodness!). it was so great.

i just had the best day ever!! i even bought wine!

2 bottles!! as it turns out, i like whites best;

and especially desert wines.

i think it was all the wines we tried

on the 1st page of our list that made me like

all the ones on the back so much!

we'll see if i love them as much tomorrow.

it you are in VA, WV or NC (where they

distribute) may i suggest the blackberry,

the blushing dog & the sweet mountain laurel,

and the best and sweetest, the Frosty Dog.

so this little red neck has come a long way!

Homework

…this is way more fun than back in the day….
But don’t you wish you could go back
To the days when only homework
Was your biggest problem?!
(knowing what you know now of course!)

So after laying these out….it is a hot mess!
They all look really awesome on their own,
But added together is just a train wreck…..
All my patterns are on the same scale, so
I don’t have enough contrast…of anything!!
And so, I believe I am going to just abandon
All the rules and add some white sashing to
Break up the madness. Oh, did I mention that I
Wussed out and only did 55 blocks in stead of 80?!
Lol! I used up scraps and FQ’s which involved
Wayyyyyyy to much ironing and true-ing up and
Cutting and paying attention…. So I gave up.
HEY!! I have like a big quilt I need to do here!
(I know; like someone forced me into the quilt-along)
Anyhow, either way, it is coming along….
And I am reminded of a bumper sticker:
“Women who follow the rules rarely make history”
Amen sister!

And I spent too much time and $$$ in michaels
(they are having a kick ass sale this week, yall!)
And got lots of goodies to decorate for fall…

as for all those irons i have burning....

i have joined the quilt-along over at

Fat Quarterly cuz apparently i thought 

that i didn't have enough going on with

my JoAnn quilt. and i inadvertently got

Steff involved too. lol.

so according to her, i am evil. 

i have no idea what she means.

and i am working on another surprise...

and have i mentioned that i haven't

even started on Raggedy JoAnn yet?!

i just realized that we are already 2 weeks

into september.... so i best get my rear in gear.

and i made a new sticker for my ride.

.... in honor of our 9+ new babies

and 2 new mamas.

one of the chicks is sooo fat. he is huge!

we can't believe he actually fit in a chicken egg....

more like an ostrich egg.

This is the only thing i have sewn in a while.

Its a bday card for my bestest friend.

she is an AMAZING artist and just about

the best friend i could ever have.

she moved last year :( but we KIT.

she has an etsy site of hand made cards.

she just started it, but she will be growing it,

i just know it.

this has been a great holiday weekend...i H8

that its coming to an end.  i haven't really

accomplished anything except spending too much $$

at Jo Anns, and spent the ENTIRE DAY

Sunday cleaning the kitchen. yea, it was that bad

that it took a whole freaking day. but you can not

believe how happy i am that it is clean.

i DARE anyone to use a dish, i DARE you!!

and the weather is so ridiculously fall; i REALLY

wanna go shopping for fall and decorate the house.

my living room would be PERFECT all decked out

in fall; its already gold and burgundy.

i just have to remind myself that we

are going on vacation soon, and i need

to save my pennies..... 

we'll see how that goes.

but it would NEVER happen; seeing as

how my hub is a walking grease pile.

i am going to get him his own hand towel in

the kitchen that is black....all my others are

Armed & Ready

my weapons of choice for Raggedy (jo) Ann.

unfortunately JoAnn's did NOT have any material

like i see in my head for this project.... that would have been

too easy. so after 2 hours of deliberation and walking

the store i settled on these guys. however, once

i got home and scanned them into EQ, the patterns are 

too large for mine. :( SO i have some re-configuring to do.

i don't wanna abandon it since i put so much into it.....

but i guess we will see. i have till dec. lol

but between now and then here are the

gifts i have to start making:

*a stuffed frog

*2 pillow case sets

*towel wedding cake

*another pillow (?)

and more crap i haven't thought of yet.

i best get busy!
