mmmm....left overs

Before.......
This little guy is a left-over purse. yeah yeah, i know i have 17 other irons in the fire rite now....but i just threw this idea together and i was so excited i couldn't wait to finish it. i started taking pix as i went so i could make a pattern to sell....well it turned out to just about try my patients (like i have many of those to start with) and so i gave up on that mess. it ended up being more difficult than i thought...and i know that if i saw this pattern, there was no way in hell i'd actually try it. but anyhow....in the even that anyone out there actually wants a pattern, holla at me and i will take the time to put it together. my leftovers include lace from my moms collections over the years, the twisted ropes are gift bag handles, wood bead is an extra off a sweater, an old belt and the interior is from the remains of an old shower curtain.
so without further adieu....
i give you  the ultimate gurlie purse

china could there be for me?
well, i don't have anything import to actually talk about here, still workin on the same crap...i think, no, i KNOW it will take just about a life time to finish the wall hanging, and the place mats are starting to get on my every last nerve....and not to mention the fact that i am lazy. but hey, they kicked me out of working tomorrow, so maybe i'll get something done.

Scrappy Valentine

A handmade valentine for your valentine! and nothing says valentine like pink crap and lace :)
i guess this isn't really a step by step tutorial like i was planing on....
but i am lazy so yall are just going to have to read about it. ha!
all you need for this little baby is some card stock and fabric scraps.

1.
Cut out a piece of card stock and write your valentines day message on the back
(i used a 4.25" x 5.5" piece to fit in a card envelope)

2.
Find a fabric scrap to cover the card stock; it doesn't have to be perfect, we'll take care of that later.

3.
Pick a piece of scrap to cut your heart out of and iron fusible backing to it to make applique easier.
Then glue it to the piece that will cover the card and applique (mine favorite is the blanket stitch)
(yes,i meant to say "mine" ;)

4.
Glue the appliqued fabric to the card.
Use some decorative cutting scissors to cut the outer edge of the card.

5.
Embelish! i hand stitched lace top and bottom; yes, thru the card and material. and added a bow.
and TA DA! you have a custom, made-with-love valentine!!
this would also be a fun project if you have little cretins...i mean, children >:) teehee.

Happy Valentine's Everyone! <3

stop and smell the roses

Before
as you can tell i have started the collecting of "pretties" for the white room. As i mentioned before, i went to Michaels last week; they had all floral stems 40% off, so i got some vintage looking roses among others for an arrangement. it's not my best one, but its still cute.  it looks right at home on the entertainment center with all the not white crap still there. ha.

After!!
welp, another snow day today :) i love it, but at this rate my paycheck is only gonna be $10. but hey, as long as i am stuck at home, i can't be out shopping so i guess its an even trade. and i love a nice peacfuly craft day more than a day of pay anyway.....(that is, until the mortgage is due! hell, more like the electric bill these days!) welp....i guess i won't be seein' ya anywhere today! lol

Sweet Tweet!

Sweet Tweet!! I finished the top, and lets face it, its gonna be a while before i put a back on this puppy. it really is the cutest thing ever. Big ups to Steff!! THANK YOU :) i highly recommend this pattern, it is SUPER easy and really fun. I winged it on the flowers, instead of piecing each petal i just gathered a strip of fabric and made it a "flower". i'm not a genius, it was in one of my quilt project books.
see yall in line at etsy!

foreva unfinished

in the tune of the Spartan Cheerleaders...."who's that gurl with the unfinished WIP's? It's me, It's me!" so remember the last thing i teased you about, the one with the rose fabric?, yeah, that one......ughm....so it is still sitting on the back of the chair waiting for me....and this little number ^ i started last weekend....and in case anyone was wondering, Grandmother's Flower garden TAKES FOR EVER!!!!! to damn much cutting in it for me...but it really makes you feel awesome when its done..... this is only part one of this particular project....i intend for it to be a tutorial for Moda (one of my new years resolutions) and for it to be adorning my kitchen table come summer......i guess we'll hold our breath on that one. ha. and in the midst of dreaming up that project, i have also decided what to do with the family room......so i am in full blown home decor mode.....well in full thinking process anyway. most of what i need to do i can't do till spring, when the weather is above 50 and preferably not raining (or snowing), as i have TONS of sanding & spray painting to do. giving old furniture a face lift.

^so this is what i started today...because afterall, i have nothing else i need to work on. i heart eyelet patterns. this is going to be a wall hanging in the ever-so-awesome-in-my-head family room re-do. the whole "theme" for the room is shabby sheik goes to the beach. the whole thing is going to be done in white, and shades of white....you heard me, shades of white. my husband thinks that is hilarious. your gurls out there know what i mean. so i went to Michael's and bought flowers and nick-nacks (as my gramma used to say "pretties") and picture frames-all of which were on sale....that makes it ok....in shades of white. i am SO EXCITED ABOUT IT. i just can't wait till its done. i'll try to post tidbits as i go and then reveal the before and after. so does anyone know how to make a slip cover for school bus seats? i need to figure that out.
welp as if you couldn't tell its a snow day and my husband is sleeping. i guess this novel should come to an end, assuming anyone made it down this far.....i know if i had to read it.....well, lets face it.....i only look at the pictures.    see ya in the paint isle at lowes!

Low Carb Pancakes

what better saturday morning breakfast is there?! Pancakes.  Guuurrl, i know dat's rite.

This recipe is WAY better than all my old ones, so check it:

1/4 cup soy flour
1/4 flaxseed meal
1tbl sp. baking powder
1tbl. sp. vanilla
4 eggs

mix accordingly and ta-da, pancakes! slather them in butter and TONS of Mrs. Butterworth's Sugar Free syrup. This only yeilds 3 thick pancakes, but its hard to finish them; very filling. *Also, make sure to have a very small skillet to make them, as the mix isn't very thick.
The whole thing is only 6 carbs. and thank goodness sugar free syrup is 0!!

enjoy :)
